Our
Story

We're new here.

Alliance for Refugees was birthed through the collaborative efforts of Princeton Alliance Church and World Relief.

In February 2023, World Relief visited PAC to evaluate the viability of an affiliate office in Central NJ. Because of PAC's strong community connections, benevolence ministries, ESL program, refugee care ministry, and its diverse and welcoming volunteers, World Relief saw a community that could help a resettlement agency provide hope and healing to its clients.

Together they worked toward the goal of establishing a new refugee resettlement agency to be called Alliance for Refugees (AFR). After months of preparation AFR’s application was submitted to the Federal Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (a division of the U.S. State Department) along with over a dozen letters of support from churches (including PAC) and organizations in Middlesex and Mercer Counties as well as NJ’s Office of New Americans.

The State Department approved our application! Alliance for Refugees is now an independent 501(c)3 charitable organization functioning as a World Relief affiliate for the purpose of resettling refugees assigned by the State Department to begin their new lives in NJ.

AFR was established because people of faith and people of good will came together to offer new neighbors a warm welcome as they experience freedom, healing, and hope.
